“Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus is a special story for the 5th edition of the game Dungeons & Dragons. It’s like the beginning of the video game Baldur’s Gate III. Christopher Perkins, the main storyteller for Dungeons & Dragons, said it’s like mixing Dungeons & Dragons with the movie Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus is a big book with 256 pages. It tells a story for players in the game, starting from level 1 and going up to level 13. The adventure begins in the city of Baldur’s Gate, which is turning bad because of evil powers and gods.

The heroes in the story are trying to make things right as they go into Avernus, the first part of the Nine Hells. A powerful devil named Zariel is in charge there. Players can also choose to get involved in the Blood War, if they want.

Cameron Kunzelman, who wrote for Paste, mentioned that there’s a section at the back of the book, about 50 pages long, all about Baldur’s Gate as a place. It’s a good resource if you want to run a game in the city or just learn more about it. Plus, there are some cool maps in there too.
