The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient Indian text that has been regarded as a significant work of Hindu literature and philosophy. Between the years 400 BCE and 200 CE, the Bhagavad Gita was composed. The authorship of the Bhagavad Gita, including the Vedas and Upanishads, is unknown.

The Bhagavad-Gita is ancient India’s everlasting message of divine knowledge. The word Gita is a combination of the words song and word. Bhagavad means God, and the Bhagavad-Gita is often referred to as the Song of God. The Bhagavad Gita is a synthesis of Hindu concepts of dharma, theistic bhakti, and yogic moksha ideals. The text incorporates concepts from the Samkhya-Yoga theory to cover jnana, bhakti, karma, and Raja Yoga (discussed in the sixth chapter).

The Gita is told in the form of a conversation between Pandava prince Arjuna and his charioteer and guide Krishna. Arjuna is filled with moral dilemma and despair at the start of the Dharma Yudhha (righteous war) between the Pandavas and the Kauravas because of the violence and death that the war would bring in the fight against his own kin. The Krishna–Arjuna dialogues address a wide variety of theological subjects, including ethical dilemmas and metaphysical questions that extend well beyond Arjuna’s current conflict.

The Bhagavad Gita is the most well-known Hindu text, with a distinct pan-Hindu influence.
